Front and Center Anchors of the AFC West. PT 1 of 4 2008-04-02 22:10:16 | By: Mykle Van Hausen The San Diego Chargers It’s a lock Nick Hardwick’s Wife puts his health above all, but she was probably not pleased by the cancellation of their 21 day Maui / Australia vacation. A mis-diagnosis after an Oct. 14th sprain against Oakland side lined the Pro Bowl Center 4 weeks until a Doctor cleared him to play claiming the foot injury was a "minor tweak". Hardwick played the final six games of the season and then three play off games knowing "...something was wrong". Hardwick’s "minor tweak" now required vacation cancelling surgery which he had March 14th. The 6-4, 295 lb. Hardwick is expected to be ready for camps in July, but could be out until September. Back up Center Cory Withrow filled in for Hardwick, but the Chargers acknowledged, they missed the Pro Bowler’s play. San Diego went 2-2 and in the games Hardwick missed. Antonio Gates, Philip Rivers and Full Back Andrew Pinnock all under went surgery this off season and could miss part of Pre Season. Gates had surgery to his troublesome toe. Pinnock and Rivers both had surgery on their knees. You can bet the Chargers, their fans and especially his Wife, will be watching his recovery closely. Comments
